Over 250 students benefit from 2015 Back-Pack 2 School Project

2015 Back-Pack 2 School Project

Since 2007, the Camanche Lake and Upcountry Community Centers have coordinated the Back-Pack 2 School Project.  This county-wide project provides backpacks filled with school supplies for children in need living in Amador County who are going into grades K-12.  Our goal is to have our students feel supported by their community to be successful in school, graduate, and go on to higher learning.

This year, over 250 students received backpacks and school supplies through the generous support of local individuals, businesses and community organizations.  Special thanks go out to Trinity Episcopal Church, Upcountry Rotary, Faith Lutheran Church, American River Bank, Claypool’s Gift and Home, Pine Grove Video, the Corvette Club

The Community Centers collect school supplies year round.  If you or your organization would like to make a donation, please contact 296-2785 to receive a list of needed supplies or to make a monetary donation.  You can also follow the project on Facebook at Amador County Back-Pack 2 School Project.
