Amador College Connect announces office relocation and expansion

Amador College Connect announces the relocation of its college support center to Jackson Creek Plaza located at 525-6 Hwy 49 in Jackson.  The Amador College Connect Center provides a thoughtfully planned space with resources for students to meet, study, and network.  Current Amador College Connect students also benefit from a variety of services offered there that include:  mentoring through college success steps, financial aid assistance, textbook purchase, tutoring, and student internships.  Services are available to Amador College Connect students at no cost.
Prospective students can obtain information about distance education programs and courses at Amador College Connect.  Amador College Connect provides distance education degree, certificate, and transfer programs through regional college partners.  Applications for fall admission are being accepted now.

“Amador College Connect takes great pride in helping adult learners pursue a college education locally while continuing with their busy lives,” said Paul Molinelli, Jr., Chair of the Amador Community College Foundation Board.  “The new Amador College Connect Center helps us do this while also bringing us closer to the community here in Amador County.”

Amador College Connect has also recently launched a student internship program through Amador College Connect.  We are partnering with area companies and agencies to enhance the education of students by providing relevant field experience prior to graduation, balancing classroom theory with practical, hands-on experiences.   In this way, Amador College Connect can partner with local businesses for their training needs, as well as, become an active community member.  The internship program is financed through generous grants from Pacific Gas and Electric Foundation, Bank of America Charitable Foundation, and the Sierra Health Foundation.

We are conducting an online survey regarding the needs of Amador County employers for workforce training.  Amador College Connect requests Amador County employers to take our survey at

Amador College Connect is open Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  More information can be found at or by calling 209.217.8239.

July: 5 Water Safety Tips
* Watch kids when they are in or around water, without being distracted. Keep young children within arm's reach of an adult.
* Empty all tubs, buckets, containers and kiddie pools immediately after use. Store them upside down so they don't collect water.
* Close toilet lids and use toilet seat locks to prevent drowning. Keep doors to bathrooms and laundry rooms closed.
* Install fences around home pools. A pool fence should surround all sides of the pool and be at least four feet tall with self-closing and self-latching gates.
* Know what to do in an emergency. Learning CPR and basic water rescue skills may help you save a life.

For more information and resource on water safety, visit the Safe Kids World Widewebsite.
