We so appreciate your support of Amador College Connect, our college center that provides local residents the opportunity to earn career technical certificates, AA/AS degrees, and/or transfer programs locally through our distance education programs offered by partner colleges. We also offer a full array of support services to students including tutoring, mentoring, assistance with financial aid and educational planning.
We’ve recently moved to the Jackson Creek Plaza into a new store front location that provides more visibility. ACCF is serving approximately 143 students, 74% of which are women and 83% qualify for the Board of Governor’s fee waiver, meaning they earn under $14,000 per year.
Amador County is one of the few counties in our state that doesn’t have a community college affiliation or physical presence. Many young people leave Amador County upon high school graduation, and others commute to community colleges which are 30 miles or more away. Many residents don’t have the resources to move away to attend a school or a have reliable commute vehicle. The ACCF grew to fill this need for college courses and certifications that Amador residents can access locally.
